Feeling a little nutty lately? Well, you certainly won’t be alone when we celebrate Grab Some Nuts Day on Monday, August 3!

Luckily we’ve got a variety of ways to celebrate the day, no matter way kind of nut you are!

For instance, have a love of peanuts? Then you’ll want to try our Peanut Butter Bark — our spin on the classic peanut butter cup — or our Childhood Collection of truffles featuring a peanut butter and jelly flavor.

Pecan lovers will adore our Pecan Cayenne Bark, while those who enjoy hazelnuts and almonds will flip over our Gianduja — an Italian chocolate treat that blends those two delicious nuts with white, milk and dark chocolates.

And for the nuttiest of all, the best option is our Nut Truffle Collection featuring almond, pistachio and pecan flavors.

Now that we’ve given you some great options for celebrating Grab Some Nuts Day, let’s test your nut knowledge with some trivia!

Did you know:

  • What we may think of as “nuts” may not entirely be accurate. For instance, peanuts are not really nuts — they are technically legumes, like peas and beans. And almonds, walnuts and pecans are not really nuts either — they’re drupes, which means are a fruit with a shell and seed inside. The seed is what we eat and is considered a nut.
  • Almonds recently surpassed peanuts as the most popular nut in the United States — Americans reportedly eat about two pounds of almonds every year.
  • Research has shown that nuts can be very beneficial to our health. Many types of nuts are known to include “heart healthy” substances like unsaturated fats and Vitamin E that can help lower bad cholesterol. Almonds are loaded with Vitamin E, which can reportedly help boost the immune system, and a natural antioxidant found in peanuts may help keep brains sharp as we age.

So no matter what kind of nut is your favorite, there’s lots of great reasons to grab some and celebrate! What is your favorite way to enjoy nuts? Share you thoughts and recipes in the comment section below.
