Summer Movie and Chocolate Pairings

The summer movie season is here, and with it comes a slew of varied movies all vying for the box office crown.  Whether you’re seeing MinionsInside Out, or Jurassic World, you’re going to need a movie snack.  What better way than to pair your film with some of Delysia Chocolates’ truffle collection?  Here are some ideas!

1.  Jurassic World

For the perfect popcorn blockbuster, I would recommend pairing something salty with your buttery snack. So, while the T-Rex on screen is chomping away, take some bites out of Delysia’s Salted Chocolate Truffles, with flavors such as Salted Caramel, Sea Salt, and Smoked Salted Caramel.  Don’t waste your money on another overpriced Hershey bar- sneak some Delysia chocolate into the theater instead.

2.  Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

The spy is a suave gentleman who can hold his liquor.  And so, your chocolate should be able to as well that you pair with such a caper.  The two collections we recommend for the latest from Tom Cruise are the Gentlemen and Spirits Collections.  The Gentlemen Collection features cigar, dark chocolate, and scotch flavors, while the Spirit collection features scotch, bourbon, and rum.  Make it a chocolate snacking game- every time the characters drink on screen, take a bite of chocolate.  The way that some movie characters drink, you may want to pack two boxes!

3.  Ant-Man

This film, the first action film for Paul Rudd, is a Marvel comic book adaptation bug chocolates homepagewhere our hero shrinks to the size of an insect to fight crime.  Your chocolate could have insects in it too!  Yes, Delysia has come out with the Chocolate Bug Collection.  It features crickets, mealworms, and grasshoppers that add a lot of natural protein to the chocolate mix.    You can also choose the cricket bark (pictured here). While it may not be the same thing your neighbors are snacking on, at least it’ll be themed to the movie!

Nicole Patel

Nicole Patel is the proprietor of and chocolatier for Delysia Chocolatier. In 2006 while pregnant with her first son, Nicole made a batch of chocolate truffles as holiday gifts. To the delight of friends and family, she continued to create chocolates as a way to relieve stress from her corporate engineering job. In 2008, a chance trip to Becker Vineyards led to Nicole being the first in Texas to make truffles using local wines. Within five years, what started as a hobby turned Delysia into one of the Top Ten Chocolatiers in the Americas, as selected by the International Chocolate Salon.
