Whiskey cocktails perfect for Dad this Father’s Day




Whiskey was made for chocolate. There is just nothing else like it! Whether you love creamy white chocolate, sweet milk, or bitter dark, whatever whiskey you pour in your glass will pair beautifully.

Fiery Old Fashioned

1.5 oz islay whisky
1/3 oz simple syrup
2 dash angostura
2 dash hellfire bitters
Orange peel garnish

Combine all liquid ingredients in a rocks glass with an ice cube and stir for 20 seconds. Garnish with an orange peel.

The 19th Century Cocktail

1.5 oz rye whiskey
3/4 oz Lillet blanc
3/4 oz creme de Cacao
3/4 oz lemon juice
lemon peel garnish

Shake all liquid ingredients for 20 seconds and pour into a coupe glass. Garnish with lemon peel.

The Black Hole

1.5 oz bourbon
0.25 oz hazelnut liqueur
0.25 oz simple syrup
2 oz cold brew coffee
1 oz Irish creme

Combine all liquid ingredients into a glass (except Irish creme) and stir with ice for 5 seconds. Top with Irish creme.

Nicole Patel is the proprietor of and chocolatier for Delysia Chocolatier. In 2006 while pregnant with her first son, Nicole made a batch of chocolate truffles as holiday gifts. To the delight of friends and family, she continued to create chocolates as a way to relieve stress from her corporate engineering job. In 2008, a chance trip to Becker Vineyards led to Nicole being the first in Texas to make truffles using local wines. Within five years, what started as a hobby turned Delysia into one of the Top Ten Chocolatiers in the Americas, as selected by the International Chocolate Salon.
