8 ways to appreciate moms

This Mother’s Day give thanks to your mom, aunt, mentor or any other woman in your life – mom or not – who has helped guide and shape you into the remarkable person that you are today. We all have very strong female role models in our lives who can sense our sadness and are there when we need their support the most – and have come to our rescue more than just once or twice. Below are 8 great ways to appreciate moms and other special women in your life on Mother’s Day and throughout the year.

  1. Call just to say, “I love you”

You and your mom talk all the time – share the highlights of your week and ask each other for advice. What better way to show you appreciate mom than calling her just to say, “I love you” and not asking her for anything.

  1. Offer to run a few of her errands

She’s so busy during the week with errands often left to the weekend, – leaving little time for herself. Show how much you appreciate mom by giving her an extra hour or two this week to catch up on the latest book from her favorite author while you drop off her dry cleaning and pick up groceries. Why not surprise her by including a box of Delysia Chocolatier’s truffles from the Mother’s Day collection. Each box includes three flavor profiles, lavender, white chocolate and rose tea.

  1. Send her flowers just because

The next time your mom doles out some wonderful advice to help you in your time of need or listens to your latest gripe, send some thanks her way with a bouquet of flowers. It will be unexpected and even more appreciated.

4. Invite her to dinner and a movie night

The last time your mom was able to sit down peacefully and watch a movie in its entirety was sometime in the 1980’s. Appreciate mom by inviting her over for dinner and a movie and insist she do nothing but enjoy the meal and sit through the romantic comedy. Make sure to provide awesome movie theater treats like popcorn and gummy bears, but don’t forget the chocolate. Treat her to some truffles from the sea collection. The salted caramel, sea salt, and smoked sea salt chocolates will pair nicely with all the other salty and sweet snacks. She’ll think it’s the 1980’s all over again.

5. Help her plant an herb garden

She doesn’t have time to tend to a garden but loves the idea of having some fresh herbs on hand to add some pizazz to her famous casseroles. Why not help your mom build a small indoor one. It will also provide a nice decorative focal point to her kitchen.

  1. Send her a card and include pictures

You stay in touch with emails and texts and weekly phone calls, but when was the last time you corresponded with your mom through an actual letter? Send her a card, make it yourself if you’re crafty, and include some pictures, she’ll cherish carrying them around and showing you off to her friends.

7. Host brunch for her and her friends

She does so much for you, why not do something extra nice to show how much you appreciate mom. Invite your mom and her friends over for Sunday brunch and prepare each of their favorite dishes. Stay on standby to refresh drinks and clear dishes. At the end of the meal delight them with some of Delysia’s truffles from the tea collection. It features the award-winning chai truffle alongside other great flavors like earl grey and green tea. She’ll be beaming for weeks and will boast for years.

  1. Treat her to a spa day then meet for lunch

When was the last time your mom had any downtime? Treat her to some guilt-free indulgence she rightfully deserves. After her morning of pampering meet her for lunch and let her do most of the talking.
