Here in Texas, we’re always looking for ways to cool down in the summer. One of our favorite ways to beat the heat is rich, frosty ice cream. We’re so enthralled with the cold confection, Delysia Chocolatier added an ice cream-inspired indulgence to our Childhood Chocolate Truffle Collection. The Ice Cream Truffle gives you a taste of three popular flavors – chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Our crew came up with a few other great recommendations on how to cool down with a cold snack. If you missed National Ice Cream Day, feel free to indulge in a few of these treats today.
Give Me S’More Milkshake
A thick, creamy milkshake that can barely get through a straw is a thing of beauty on a hot summer day. S’mores are one of our favorite treats from our younger years here at Delysia Chocolatier. Not only did we include a S’mores Truffle in the Childhood Collection, we also have S’mores Chocolate Bark. You can use the bark to make a s’mores milkshake and sprinkle with shavings of the incredible bark.
Next Level Ice Cream Sandwich
The list of ingredients that can be used to craft an artisan ice cream sandwich is endless. Some of our top choices for the outside of the sandwich include:
- Churros
- Waffles
- Brownies
- Pastry Puffs
- Graham Cracker
- Cupcake
- Cookie Dough
- Macarons
Pair it with a classic vanilla bean ice cream or any other flavor that couples nicely with the “bread” of the sandwich.
Ice Cream Day Float Your Way
Cola and a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream is all you really need to make an ice cream float. But why stop there? Turn it into cherry coke with grenadine. Add chocolate shavings to the top of the ice cream. Cola and vanilla ice cream are such great bases, any number of ingredients can be used to customize a float.
Fried Ice Cream
Believe it or not, ice cream can be deep-fried. At state and county fairs across the country, it’s quickly becoming a popular carnival concoction. It’s a bit of a process, but you can try it at home with this recipe.
Crème Brulee Ice Cream
If you want to impress your friends and have an arsenal of kitchen tools at your disposal this National Ice Cream Day, whip up a few servings of crème brulee ice cream. When crème brulee ice cream is made from scratch it’s even better than its predecessor.
Ice Cream Tacos
Yes and yes! One of the staple foods of Texas is now sweeter than ever thanks to this ingenious ice cream taco recipe.
