Austin chocolatier named Top 10 in the Americas

Delysia Chocolatier’s owner and chocolatier, Chef Nicole Patel, has been named a Top 10 Chocolatier and Confectioner in North and South America by the International Chocolate Salon and TasteTV. Competing against hundreds of artisan and large scale chocolate companies, Chef Patel has been named a Grand Master Chocolatier, a designation very few chocolatier have the privilege of receiving.

“It is an honor to bring such an international award to the Austin community and our loyal customers. I love the willingness of our customers to try the innovative products that we create. I think this open-mindedness is something that is really unique to Austin and allows small business owners like myself to be successful,” state Chef Patel.

This prestigious honor was awarded based on competitive submissions in categories including top truffle artistry, best chocolate bar, best bridal chocolate, best white chocolate, best drinking chocolate, and top branded chocolatier. Hundreds of artisan and large scale chocolate companies compete from North and South America to receive such recognition. Chef Patel was awarded numerous Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals including ones for her innovative Cricket chocolate bar, Gianduja, White peach balsamic chocolate truffle, and Ghost pepper drinking chocolate to name a few. Nicole Patel

Nicole Patel is the proprietor of and chocolatier for Delysia Chocolatier. In 2006 while pregnant with her first son, Nicole made a batch of chocolate truffles as holiday gifts. To the delight of friends and family, she continued to create chocolates as a way to relieve stress from her corporate engineering job. In 2008, a chance trip to Becker Vineyards led to Nicole being the first in Texas to make truffles using local wines. Within five years, what started as a hobby turned Delysia into one of the Top Ten Chocolatiers in the Americas, as selected by the International Chocolate Salon.
