Valentine’s Day Chocolate and Recipe Pairings

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. If you haven’t already made dinner reservations chances of snagging a table at your favorite restaurant are getting slimmer with each tick of the clock. Skip the rushing in traffic to make your reservation time and cook your own dinner at home. Cooking someone a meal is one of the most thoughtful gifts you can give and it is also a fun date activity. Take this chance to spend the evening with your loved one cooking a new dish. Because cooking something new can sometimes be stressful let us take care of dessert. Here are 3 great chocolate and recipe pairings featuring delicious Delysia Chocolatier truffle collections.

1. Lasagna and the Italian Truffle Collection – Usually I try to stay clear of eating pasta dishes on dates, but lasagna is an exception. You won’t have a Lady and the Tramp moment, but you also won’t have to worry about getting a fork full or fettuccini noodles safely into your mouth. According to the New York Times this is the best lasagna recipe; however it takes four hours to make so I would suggest only making it for someone you really like. What better way to finish a delicious Italian meal than with the Italian Truffle Collection. Featuring the favorite flavors of amaretto, biscotti, and tiramisu these chocolates will have you feeling the love.

2. Skirt Steak Tacos and the Latin Truffle Collection -Nothing says love like tacos. If you’re planning a low-key evening with your love or maybe celebrating Galentine’s Day with your girl friends these tacos are a great choice. More extravagant than the ones you probably normally make, yet still simple. The traditional flavors in the Latin Truffle Collection are the perfect compliment to this dish. This collection is the perfect combination of sweet chocolate and spicy hot jalapeno, cayenne, and habanero peppers.

3. Shrimp and Grits and the Citrus Truffle Collection -This is one of my all time favorite dishes. If you’ve never tried shrimp and grits I highly suggest you go with this pairing for your Valentine’s Day dinner. This classic Southern dish is a perfect example of a food pairing that sounds strange yet works in the best way. The classic accompaniment to seafood is lemon, so what better pairing than the Citrus Truffle Collection. Featuring lemon, lime, and orange infused chocolates this collection is light and refreshing.
