It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since we unveiled the Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center for the local media. Reporters got an inside look at the 2,000 square foot center, which is the first of its kind in the entire state of Texas. We are happy to announce that starting November 1st, the Culinary Center will also be open to the public!

From Setbacks to Success

Chef Nicole’s vision was to build a venue where she could not only have a state-of-the-art kitchen but also a place where the community could come together. A place where people could experience Delysia chocolates from start to finish and share their love for fine cocoa confections. It was a grand goal that wasn’t without its struggles and setbacks.

Any project of this size is going to experience unforeseen hurdles, but Chef Nicole never could have guessed she’d become a general contractor in the process. After her contractor disappeared with almost everything that he hadn’t already nailed down, Chef Nicole was faced with a decision: cut her huge losses and give up or persevere through sheer willpower. The thought of getting to share a special space with Delysia Chocolatier customers gave Chef Nicole the motivation she needed to take off her apron and strap on a tool belt.

The Culinary Center is a true labor of love, and every inch of it reflects Chef Nicole’s passion for her business. The kitchen is a sacred place for any chocolatier. It’s where experimentation leads to new confections that delight the senses. Chef Nicole is so grateful she now has the opportunity to welcome people into her kitchen to learn more about her craft and chocolate creations.

Making Chocolate Memories With the Community

We’ve been having so much fun growing the foundation of Delysia, and we’re very excited to share new avenues of the business with everyone in the coming months. It’s amazing to have our own space and be able to share the Delysia brand with our clientele in such a uniquely personal way.

Since the completion of the Culinary Center, we’ve enjoyed making memories with several special events. Just a month after the media open house, Saint Nick stopped by for a chocolate-filled holiday event. This Easter, children of all ages put their artistic touch on chocolate eggs, and our Facebook fans got to vote for a winner. We’ve also invited the media back into our kitchen to film segments on how Delysia Chocolatier makes such innovative chocolates.

We welcome everyone to join us at the Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center on October 30th from 6:30-8:30pm for our inaugural Halloween event. Guests can tour the center while kids participate in a chocolate sugar skull decorating contest. It’s the perfect opportunity to do a costume dress rehearsal before the Halloween holiday.

Hope to see you soon at the Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center!

Nicole Patel

Nicole Patel is the proprietor of and chocolatier for Delysia Chocolatier. In 2006 while pregnant with her first son, Nicole made a batch of chocolate truffles as holiday gifts. To the delight of friends and family, she continued to create chocolates as a way to relieve stress from her corporate engineering job. In 2008, a chance trip to Becker Vineyards led to Nicole being the first in Texas to make truffles using local wines. Within five years, what started as a hobby turned Delysia into one of the Top Ten Chocolatiers in the Americas, as selected by the International Chocolate Salon.
