Thoughts of a Mom
This month, we honor Moms everywhere. Our young lives are molded by our Mothers, from the early experiences we have to the values we hold true. There are numerous things in life that I am proud of, that I cherish, and I’m protective of. Nothing amounts to the love, adoration, and devotion I have towards my two little boys. From the moment I held them in my arms, they became my everything. It wasn’t until I became a mother myself that I truly understood the dedication and devotion of my own Mother.
As any devoted mother knows, your children – no matter what the age – bear a large piece of your heart and soul. My boys mean the world to me – I want the absolute best for them, for all of their dreams to come true, to always be protected, and above all to be happy and carefree. As all moms can relate, I worry about whether I am doing enough to prepare them for the challenges in life, encouraging them enough to do their absolute best, and nurturing them at all times. When I am away them, I can not wait to return home to them to spend precious time with them, while at the same time wanting to give them the freedom to spread their wings and grow into little adults. From the day they were both born, I learned the meaning of unconditional love.
As a child, we just know that Mom is always there to help us and take care of us. It is often, though not intentional, something we take for granted. Moms find joy in the littlest signs of appreciation, from the tiniest kiss, sweetest little written love notes, and the smallest words of admiration we receive from our children. It melts our hearts and reassures us that we are doing our best to nurture and love our children.
