Notes from the Chocolatier: Relax in the moment

Times for relaxation are necessary in hectic times. Busy schedules and endless gift lists can be overwhelming as we head towards the end of the year and begin the holiday season. This is when it is important to give yourself time to relax.

drinking chocolate is the perfect companion to chilly autumn nightsAutumn is one of my favorite times of year, with the changing leaves and cooler, beautiful weather. It’s the perfect time for sipping drinking chocolate as we sit cozily by fires or taking in the fresh air on a hike. Autumn can also be filled with anticipation and preparation for the end of the year – studying for end of semester exams, shopping for holiday gifts, and preparing for holiday festivities. It’s now that we must remind ourselves to take some time to enjoy the moment (and maybe a little chocolate!). What is beautiful weather and visiting relatives, if you don’t allow yourself the opportunity to truly appreciate them?

November begins a very busy and productive time for the Culinary Center. It’s my favorite time of year! We release our seasonal Winter product line while also working with our customers to create new and unique gifts for families, friends, and clients. During all of this, we make a point to relax every once in a while, giving thanks and appreciation to those around us. Thanksgiving is not the only time to thank those around you and be appreciated of the life you live.

Now, if any, is the season to take some time for yourself. So indulge in a little chocolate. Read that book you never got around to. And simply give yourself the love you deserve. Appreciate the people around you that make life worth living and send a little love their way.
