Notes from the Chocolatier: Labor Day relaxation

Chocolate 2011-0191

As we fall into a new routine for the new school year, evenings are starting to have a wonderful breeze, the kids are beginning their after school programs and relaxation on the front porch comes easy. This time of year is especially cherished, when the weather becomes cooler allowing for many outdoor activities and festivals that the summer months are just too hot to bear. It is also a time for when my boys fall back into their normal school routine, making things just a little quieter and lonelier during the day.

Start fresh

September is a great time to start fresh and begin prepping for the festive seasons to come. Often, our New Years resolutions are sometimes forgotten before the year ends; we just lose track of where we started during all the summer fun. We do have some time before December, so use this month to get back on track. I want to encourage you to take advantage of this Labor Day weekend, focusing on yourself and what you would like to achieve the remainder of the year.

Dropping off my boys at school this week seemed harder for me than their first day of Kindergarten. We had such a wonderful summer together; it just went by so quickly and they are growing up so fast. For me personally, this Labor Day weekend will focus on spending time with my family. I am closing the laptop and turning off the phone, disconnecting from the business for a few days to rejuvenate in the Texas Hill Country. This is our weekend to spend some special time together and relax. Meanwhile, my team will continue to be here in Austin holding down the fort, so please continue to stop by our Culinary Center for our complimentary weekend chocolate tastings.

This is one of my favorites to gift to the hardworking mom, the neighbor you turn to for small favors, or the business owner that needs an antioxidant rich treat to take their minds off of any stress collected during the week.

At the Culinary Center, September is a prime month for our team to focus on prepping for the holidays and creating the perfect experience for our customers. We’d love for you to join us this month during the weekends for unique chocolate tastings you’ve never experienced.
