Time seems to be flying by! It feels like we just spoke during last month’s Notes from the Chocolatier’s Kitchen.
As Spring approaches, this typically signals a slight slow-down for us at Delysia Chocolatier. But this year seems to be taking a different path. It’s been full steam ahead since November, with no slowing down in sight. It’s so exciting to be fortunate to have so many loving and supportive customers to keep us busy all the time.
And when I’m not busy in the kitchen making our award-winning chocolates, we have been invited to numerous tasting events to showcase our products. We had such a wonderful time at the Marketo SXSW party – I loved seeing the enthusiasm from everyone, especially the excitement over tasting our new ghost pepper bark. I know I’ve said it before, I love getting out and interacting with our customers. It’s the essence of Delysia – and seeing people’s faces as they taste my chocolates reminds me of the message behind our brand: For life’s every occasion. Thank you for indulging.
As I’ve said, I love tasting events. So we have a wonderful lineup of some exciting events coming up over the next six weeks. We would love to see you at any of these; click the links to purchase tickets.
Taste of Texas – The third installment of the Austin FOOD & WINE Festival kicks off on Friday night with a bash as big as the Lone Star State, Taste of Texas. We’re thrilled to be part of an all-star lineup of talent from the Texas culinary scene. You will be up close and personal with chefs, tasting your way across Republic Square Park with wine, beer or signature cocktail in hand. Then throw on your dancing shoes for a live performance by Escort – the award-winning 17-piece disco orchestra.
Sustainable Food Center’s 7th Annual Farm to Plate – Celebrate the bounty of spring with the Sustainable Food Center’s annual Farm to Plate fundraiser. It’s our third year participating as one of over 25 acclaimed chefs preparing delicious, locally-sourced bites served along with sips from numerous local breweries, spirits brands, and biodynamic wines.
Kids in a New Groove Music for the Soul – Kids in a New Groove is excited to feature a band with true Texas roots for Music for the Soul 2014, Court Yard Hounds, featuring sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robison. The sisters – who started the groundbreaking band the Dixie Chicks – have established themselves as some of the best live musicians in Texas.
Next month, I’ll be sure to do a recap of event season as well as give you an update on our headquarters’ progress. Until next time,
