Banana Lovers Day

It’s Banana Lovers Day! Did you know the average person eats about 100 bananas per year? That’s a lot of slippery peels.

High in fiber and potassium, bananas can help prevent calcium loss, ulcers, high blood pressure, and certain kinds of cancer.

Delysia Chocolatier knows how scrumptious chocolate and bananas are together. We even made a special-release banana bread bark which was sold exclusively at Salt Lick Cellars. We blended succulent milk chocolate with walnuts and banana chips. If you’d like to see it in our online shop, give us a shout on our Facebook page. We’ll randomly choose three of you to receive a complimentary bag of banana bread bark! Make sure you tag your comment with #IWantBananaBark.

While delicious on their own – or dipped in chocolate, bananas are one of the most versatile fruits out there. Here are some recipes for delectable ways to celebrate Banana Lovers Day.

For a great end-of-summer frozen treat, freeze bananas for 30 minutes then dip in high-quality melted chocolate like our peanut-butter bark. Place back in freezer for another 30 minutes and enjoy!

To the delight of friends and family, she continued to create chocolates as a way to relieve stress from her corporate engineering job. In 2008, a chance trip to Becker Vineyards led to Nicole being the first in Texas to make truffles using local wines. Within five years, what started as a hobby turned Delysia into one of the Top Ten Chocolatiers in the Americas, as selected by the International Chocolate Salon.

  1. I did not know the average person eats 100 bananas a year. I may be slightly above average. With all the health benefits, it sounds like a good choice to make. Thanks for the information!
