Is it mom’s home cooking, reminding us of the importance of family? Perhaps it’s the time away from work that moves us to rethink our priorities. Or it could simply be cold winter weather begging the need for a close companion. Whatever the reason, more wedding engagements occur in December than in any other month.

Over the next few weeks, it may start to feel like everyone you know is getting engaged, posting a new diamond ring, and flooding your inbox with cutesy e-announcements. If you’re on the other side of this scenario, now is the time for anxious anticipation. The story of how you popped the question will be told to friends and strangers for the rest of your life. No need to panic, though. We’ve got some ideas to ensure your big moment is one she’ll forever remember with sweet fondness.

5 Ingenious Ways to Propose

Foodies, listen up! Prepare your love’s favorite meal in Michelin star worthy fashion. Culinary prowess not exactly your thing? Hire a professional and engage your table decorating skills instead. Lay out a spread with romantic flowers and candlelight. For the grand finale, slide your partner a gift wrapped box of our smooth, creamy chocolate truffles, with one delicious square replaced by a ring inside.

We’re big advocates of thoughtful gestures when it comes to love and life. Plan an indoor picnic on your living room floor, surrounded by votive candles, wine, and our mouthwatering chocolates. In place of fireworks, pop the question and watch her eyes sparkle with excitement.

Arrange a gift basket full of your future mate’s favorite things: sweet eggnog and gingerbread chocolate bark, molded heart shaped chocolates, and our award winning Wine Truffle Collection. At the bottom of the basket, hide the box holding her ring. Talk about a gift that keeps on giving!

It’s never hard to find a mind-blowing fireworks display on New Year’s Eve. Before the show’s grand finale comes to a climactic crescendo, turn to your love and ask, “Will you marry me?” Celebrate her affirmation with the heavenly champagne filled chocolate truffles, found in our New Year’s Collection.

Hot cocoa and snow go together like you and your beau. After a particularly heavy snowfall, spell out “Will you marry me?” in the front yard. Grab two mugs full of spicy cayenne hot chocolate and invite her on a walk through the neighborhood. When you return home, direct your love’s attention to the message you’ve prepared. Punctuate the moment with a warming kiss.

Think outside of the box and let your sincerity shine through. You’ll spend forever affectionately reminiscing over these details. Make the moment even sweeter with fine, rich chocolate from Delysia Chocolatier. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
