3 ways to personalize your wedding

February is National Wedding Month, which makes total sense considering all the love in the air. Call me a romantic, but I simply love weddings. With all the bad in our world today it is so special to take the time to celebrate the love of two people. Weddings are a time to showcase the different personalities of the couple. No matter if you’re a couple who wants a traditional wedding or one looking for something a bit more quirky for your special day there are easy ways to let your personalities shine.

1. Music – The wedding march is such an iconic tune, but it is not the only choice for walking down the aisle. Some couples may choose to mix and match traditional songs with more contemporary ones to create something truly unique. University fight songs are always fun for the exit when the couple went to the same school. It is always a sweet touch when couples incorporate songs their parents danced to at their own weddings.
2. Location – Chapels, hotels, beaches, or wineries; the sky is the limit when deciding where to say “I do.” Gone are the days when you have to get married in the bride’s hometown. Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular as couples want to create a true vacation for their guests.
3. Favors – People came from all over to celebrate you, it’s always a nice gesture to send them home with a small favor. Personalized drink holders are fun keepsakes, but I personally think food favors are the best. Send your guests home with a snack for later whether it be a late night hotel room snack or something for the car ride home.

Nicole Patel

Nicole Patel is the proprietor of and chocolatier for Delysia Chocolatier. In 2006 while pregnant with her first son, Nicole made a batch of chocolate truffles as holiday gifts. To the delight of friends and family, she continued to create chocolates as a way to relieve stress from her corporate engineering job. In 2008, a chance trip to Becker Vineyards led to Nicole being the first in Texas to make truffles using local wines. Within five years, what started as a hobby turned Delysia into one of the Top Ten Chocolatiers in the Americas, as selected by the International Chocolate Salon.
