Have a chocolate-filled National Nutrition Month

Ladies and gentlemen, March is National Nutrition Month. That means a free pass to indulge in all the kale you want or to kick off that new healthy eating plan that you thought about doing for New Year’s and never quite got around to. Here at Delysia Chocolatier we’re really excited about this year’s Nutrition Month and wanted to share a bit of what we love about it with you. So read on and get just as excited as we are!

It showcases how healthy food can taste great

The theme of this year’s National Nutrition Month is “Savor the Flavor of Eating Right” — something we can totally get behind. We make all of our chocolate by hand and use only the highest quality, locally sourced and ethically harvested ingredients (you won’t find any fillers or preservatives here) because eating right and treating your body well doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice flavor or craftsmanship. Besides our top-notch chocolate, other great ways to enjoy some super flavorful healthy foods are:

  • Incorporating more spices and herbs into your food. Even the blandest of bland foods can become flavor bombshells with the addition of the right herbs and spices.
  • Layer flavor into your dishes. The method of cooking is just as important as the ingredients — try caramelizing, browning, or slow cooking to really add some depth to your food.
  • Add creaminess with purees. Skip unhealthy fats and add some texture and smoothness with purees instead (think tofu in dips and cashews in soups and sauces).

Chocolate fits right in to National Nutrition Month

Just because chocolate is indulgent and delicious doesn’t mean it’s bad for you and our health-centric blends are living proof. We’ve have a Tea collection chocolate truffles that will fill you with antioxidants and Cricket chocolate bark that will give you a boost of energy and a hit of protein when you need it most, like when you’re heading out the door for the gym. We even have a pure Wellness collection chocolate truffles to boot. So after your chia-filled salad or your miles-long run around town, treat yourself to some of our decadent chocolate that will keep your taste buds humming and certainly won’t interrupt your healthy eating streak.

What are you going to incorporate into your National Nutrition Month? Let us know in the comments and, as always, let us know what we can do to help make things even sweeter. Get in touch today and let us know — there’s nothing we love to do more than share our award-winning chocolate with the world.
